A funny thing happened on the way to work

I was 15 minutes into my 22 minute drive to work this morning and as I slowed down, this little guy popped up OUT OF THE BLEEPING BLUE!

He rose a little more as I came to a stop as though to say, are we there yet?

Sadly my little friend disappeared a few minutes later while I was watching the road (you know, paying attention!)
But since I didn't know he'd been there in the first place, I'm sure he's fine!

And it gave me a much needed laugh when he first appeared.

Happy Halloween

Trick or treat
Smell my feet
Give me something good to eat!

Car dancing

completely out of the blue, I heard a song I hadn't heard in awhile. So I had to smile and then...well, I guess I was made for (car) dancing...

It's an excellent car dancing song!

The short ride ended with this song.  Don't stop it now, stop it no...
Sometimes you just gotta (car) dance.

Things you find outside

sometimes I just have to stop and take a picture. Likely it's a crapshoot of randomness but I like that. You just never know what might draw your eye.

For some reason, likely the shade, the birds all wanted to congregate on one side of the pond. Just chillin....

My favorite cactus at my breakfast spot is going to flower. Not only are the spiral stalks kind of cool, but it will be quite pretty to catch open blooms.

This has been in our back yard for awhile. We never go yo the back yard.  It's a waiting game to see how long the ball will stay expanded.  Could I go get it, put it over the wall or even trash it? Why yes, yes I could. But this is fun!

I found something with bacon that was not good.

What's not to like?
Bacon. Good.
Chocolate. Good.
Potato chips. Good.
This candy bar? Surprisingly not good.

I think it was the artificial bacon bits that did it.
Uck.
On to the next weird and wacky item.
The search continues!

Updates on stitching

End of August, this was the progress. Kind of looked like a dog with a loop in its tail.
But with about five hours if vacation time....

You can sort of see the cello appear, right? Right?
I think there are about seven shades of brown in there.
Another 8 hours and I should have it complete!
Two months til it's required....
I think I can, I think I can.

"nature" Shots

Can't remember the last time I saw a wooly worm. Saw this outside a country library.
Supposedly the color denotes what kind of winter it will be. He/she was half and half so I guess that means half mild, half severe? So.....normal then?!

Outside our hotel. Only one bloom left and after hellacious winds, half this sturdy purty still remained the next day.

Random block of pretty yellow flowers.

These were the only pics of nature I took on my trip.  Hard to take pictures while driving!

trip food.

First meal in town is always our favorite thin crust pizza.  Yum!

Pretty thin! Pretty yum!

A company I used to work for back in the day.
Blast from the past.

Home away from home

Pretty fireplace. No way of knowing how to make it work!

Looks like a normal bed but it comes up to about mid thigh high. In other words... Tall!

My socks slid on this flooring! Not what you want to happen when trying to "land"

And in case you need a view from the throne, they put a full size mirror right across from it!

I love hotel rooms!
But. I will glad to head home to my room!

Goin on a trip....

Preparing for a trip. Choose which book you want, yarn craft, stitch craft, which non sandal footwear...oh yeah and why not choose a cool sock? So I decided to give TSA a chuckle and wore my Halloween socks. Chuckle was on them. I had to get a pat down. Apparently I made a highlight on the screen! Yes, it was my first pat down. Go me!

Ten year old socks... Worn maybe twice?

Freeway traffic on the way to the airport. The journey begins....

whoop whoop!
Happy trails to us....

Random thoughts

Blueman was out being political last night. So I decided a quick meal of frozen pizza would be just the stuff. I burned it. Was still good but not as pretty as Bluemans meal. Have I sunk so far that I can't even bake a pizza? Geesh!

I tried to shove too much towel on the rack the other day.
Apparently my Herculean strength was too much for the poor towel rack and it came tumbling down with a hellaciously loud rattle. *sigh*

I've made four trips to the dmv with no success and the last trip there was a small white car in front of me that was covered in an advertising wrap. It said 'too short to clean your home' and when it turned I saw it was an ad for a cleaning company. But what a weird tag line.  Then when it straightened up, I saw the slogan fully.  "Life is too short to clean your home"  or something like that. Funny how missing a few words really can change the meaning!

Happy randomness to you today!

Love on a plate

Blueman loves me.  He tells me. I like it when he shows me. I guess my love language is actions.
So when he surprised me with dinner, it was awesome.

Unbreaded chicken tenders, baby potatoes and mixed veggies.  Enough for lunch tomorrow.
Yummo!

Yup, Blueman loves me.

i need me a can of 'drama no more'

I ran across this yesterday again.  I keep getting mired in the shadows too easily these days. The work drama seems to be sorting itself out and so that must have opened the door to family drama.   I'm torn between wondering if I'm turning into a crotchety old crone or whether I somehow forgot an ignominious slight. *sigh*

One step at a time, one day at a time.
The best way, right?
Stay sunny!

High on the sky...pictures that is

We have experience hurricane rains that have left us draining and with some interesting views. Flood waters (even if it's just a parking lot) aren't pretty but I've noticed some lovely sky views.

View from getting gas

I couldn't find paint or fabric that would be as cool.

View from the car Friday morning. It was cool temps and the colors were just so fresh

One of my faves is palm trees against the sky. Saturday morning at crochet club. It feels like the trees are wiggling their fingers and saying hello!

Have a great day and don't forget to look up!

Don't be all hat and no cowboy

This was the header on my calendar the other day.
At first I thought it was funny, the picture at least.
Then I thought I might not understand the point.
It was early in the morning and I'm not always with it real early.

Basically, don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk.

This is good advice for me, for anyone in charge and especially for those who think the know it all.

May your day be cow patty free
And may you always ride upwind!

More finger fun

I had to get a new cell phone. The other was slow in getting texts and sending them, the voice to text option didn't work...and it was tiny. But it fit my hand, the cover was a grippy one and I knew how to use it.

The new phone is bigger, the case is slick and I have to have a password to open. Little things changed inside that has taken some getting used to also.

Why do I share all this? Because when I went to self pic my fingers it was harder. The fingers weren't doing what the needed to because their brethren holding the new phone were having trouble.
Eventually they all worked together to get these shots.

Guess I could have cropped the tv out!

So now I'm looking for anything in the closet that's pink!

My fall nail covers came in yesterday.  So the next couple of months are covered (pun!)

Have a fun day!

Things you do instead of crafting...

well, housework including laundry, litterbox, etc are the usual suspects that take up my crafting time. Yesterday included a nap which I hadn't had in weeks.
This weekend included a little light reading.

For some reason I like paranormal romance stories. I guess because they are so real!

Happy reading!
Maybe someday I'll get started on the 100 books on the great American read list. I'll try to throw in one by the end of the year.
