The lighter side

So before the abominable intentestinal creature took over my life, I had some random pics to share. It had been a while , it seems, where I have been just without words. They were hidden under the stressors of the day, too tired to come out and play.  I'm not strong enough to craft yet so no pics there but I have hopes for soon.

In the meantime...
I don't have dogs, but I truly feel this sentiment in regards to my boys.
The baby was a street rescue and the most loving baby.

I had begun playing with my color street nail covers again. Boot camp was the name.

Seems like your regular tree.
But if you enlarge the picture, the center shows a split in the trunk but it winds through the existing tree. I just think that's so cool.

Ahh, the good days before tummy trouble.
It's called the pbc and b.
Vanilla custard, peanut butter cup crumbles, bananas.
Whipped topping and a cherry (given away before the picture!)

May you have a sundae Sunday of your own!

Stomach flu day four

the last week started out as the usual blur.  Then Wednesday, stuff happened. I thought I'd sleep through the morning and just work from home in the afternoon but that did not happen.
Fast forward to day four and I'm better but weak. Sixteen pounds are gone.  I'm weak but I survived.

Gourmet food!

With a fine vintage for beverage.

And friends to keep me company.

We all slept like cats!

So it's been bad, but it's getting better.
I appreciate the best wishes and texts of all.
Bless you my friends.

March's finish.

I am rather shocked and surprised. After months of working on the below prayer shawl, it's finally finished! It's been on a couple of road trips and worked on in doctors offices and lunch breaks.
I had purchased the yarn on clearance and thought it was a pretty pink/peach color.
As it turns out there were different weights and different shades within the skeins of yarn.

It's turned out to be quite pretty.  It's always bittersweet to finish. It's been in my possession and growing for awhile.  I'll pass it along in love to someone who needs it. I can only hope that it is of comfort to someone.  I picture that as it wraps around the person, the invisible prayers wind around and encircle the recipient with love.

Hope you feel surrounded by love today.

One more step along.

I managed to get my squares into blocks of four and intended to border each square. While my furry children were sleeping, I decided to just see what it would look like if I didn't separate them. Turns our I like them together.

I shall endeavor to finish this part this weekend, then perhaps next weekend I can do the borders. They've been cut and sit patiently awaiting me.

Next up, I must finish my green squares for the rainbow challenge and tweak my yellow ones.

I finished a knitting project and will show that tomorrow, so March is coming together!

_^_*_^_

I took a stand this week. I sometimes read blogs that other bloggers mention or follow. I've found several that are interesting this way.  Recently I started following one.  In the last week or so, this blogger was going to host a "game". There were instructions on how to 'play'. The longer the list of rules, the more disenchanted I became. Then at the end was a note that said if you didn't consistently post on this bloggers site, you wouldn't be allowed to play.  "Don't take it personal." It said. Bad grammar aside, I wanted to write back and say of course a person should take it personally. You're basically saying I've put this on a public site but only if you do everything I tell you will I let you play.  It just felt like bullying on the playground.  So I didn't respond, and I didn't fight it. I gave in to my rights and
unfollowed the site.

Finishes and continuances

So, rather than list alllllll of the unfinished projects, I decided this year to finish one project each month. Since I'm usually working on several things at a time, I figured this would likely be easy, a real slam dunk as it were.

Wellll, not so much.
The first month was celestial swirls and I love it but it wasn't large or an old project.
This month I finished a small drawstring bag out of a leftover ball of yarn. I hope to show the tote bag originally made from it next month.

Open...

Closed...

And the only way to get it to stand was to slide in a box of puff's tissues.
Don't you hate when the magic is revealed?

The next post will show the never ending knitting project!

A gift? Yes, a gift.

So my MIL is part of a quilt guild. I've considered joining one where I live but I don't know if I can commit to meetings, etc.  It is on the back burner for now but still in consideration.  I do enjoy my knitting and crocheting group twice a month. But it's weekends, Saturday morning. No after stressful day of work and to be quite honest, I am not jazzed about walking in alone for the first time.

Anywho, I digress.
The guild draws a name and the designee calls out two colors. Those members who participate make 12 inch squares in said colors. I got to choose the colors and I chose gray and white. Apparently there are truly fifty shades of gray!

I put them down to take a picture and something not quite unexpected happened.

The picture looks like I changed it to black and white.

Until a curious critter came in....

And felt my layout wasn't going to deter him!

I have so many ideas on how to pull these together....can't wait!
What do you have waiting for your attention?
